Is The Race Taking Your Breathe Away?

Over the past few days, I've had some time to really think about what it is that I really want out of life. I think some times we think this particular thing that we crave for is good for us but if we really stop to think about it. You may even realise that it's not what you really want.

What brought this to my attention was in a moment when I felt like I wasn't making any progress in a particular area of my life and I really had to think about how important the thing I was chasing after was to me. Was it ever God's will for my life? And to cut the long story short. Being bold enough to ask that question was what brought a change in my pursuit.

I realised that the only thing we NEED is to know that whether we are single, unemployed, childless, homeless, in debt, or whatever the situation is that you may face, JESUS is our content. If I am content in Him and trust His will for my life then nothing will be impossible for Him, He will provide for our every need, He will comfort us, He will guide us, He will be enough for me and you.

And you know what? When Jesus is enough for you, nothing can take away your INNER peace. Though there are so many problems around you, none of them will stop you from moving forward. And you know what? Even if it seems like He's delaying, be sure that when He does it. It will be perfect. He will always surprise us and give us more than what we can ever think or imagine.

So don't let the race towards the goal or goals you've set for yourself take your breathe away. Don't let it slow you down, But whilst in pursuit let us keep our eyes on the ultimate prize, Jesus, our salvation.

I will leave you with this verse today from the Apostle, Paul in Philippians 4:11 (NKJV)

"Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content."
